Documents to be included with application:

• Payment for Visa Fee
• Two recent (taken less than 6 months ago) passport-sized photos for each person on your application. (Please refer to below)
• Your original passport or valid travel document;
• Completed application form
• Completed additional information form
• Proof of your employment, including a reference letter from your employer and your most recent payslips;
• Letter of invitation from your Canadian host (if applicable);
• Evidence of sufficient funds to support yourself and all your dependents during your stay in Canada (e.g. payslips and bank documents);
• Evidence that your stay in Canada will be temporary (i.e. proof of employment or educational ties, tour bookings, explanations of reason for travel etc);
• If you are not a Malaysian citizen, proof of your status in Malaysia such as a copy of your identity card, work, student, or other pass;
• If you or your dependent is under 18 years of age and travelling alone or with one parent, a notarised letter from the non-accompanying parent(s) or guardian(s) giving consent to your travel and a letter from your custodian in Canada, a copy of their passport(s) and a copy of your birth certificate are also required. If you or your dependent is the subject of a custody order, proof of sole custody or the other parent's consent must also be provided.

• All fees charged for the processing of applications are non-refundable.
• Personal cheques or cash payments are not acceptable
• Please pay the exact amount as shown in the schedule
• Payment may be made in either Malaysian ringgit or Canadian dollars.
• Malaysian Ringgit payments must be made in the form of a Bank Draft, drawn on a bank in Malaysia and made payable to the HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA.

Processing Time – Temporary Resident Visa Application (visitor visa):
The processing times which follow are for applications submitted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and are estimated from the time an application is submitted to the visa section. In the case of a file transfer, the processing time is estimated from the date the application was first submitted to the original visa office, not from the date of the file transfer to Kuala Lumpur. Note that these are standards that we attempt to maintain - the actual time required for processing an individual case depends on many factors, including requirements for additional documentation or an interview, any required verifications, and application volumes.

• SAME DAY SERVICE - Offered to applicants who submit the application in person between 08:30 and 11:30 and who are willing to wait in our reception area until the process is complete. Applications can normally be processed and a decision or request for further information given within 2-3 hours.
• 3-DAY SERVICE - This service is our normal processing standard based on a completed application with all supporting documentation. Actual processing times may vary based on requests for additional documentation or interview. Applications can be submitted by hand or through mail/courier. Please note that we do not return passports by mail. The applicant or a designated third party must collect the passport by hand directly from our office. This processing standard also applies to study permit and work permit applications where a medical examination is not required.

Visa application Handling Charge (if submit/process application through Eden Tours):
Normal:         RM 50/passport in addition to the applicable visa fees charged by embassy/consular.
